HELLO And WELCOME!

Sabella Torres

Heavily influenced by her mother’s lifelong career as a social worker dedicated to helping immigrants within her community, Sabella Torres intends to build just as impactful a career through social advocacy and community development. As Co-Founder and acting President of Towers of Justice, Sabella oversees the organization's mission to make community based resources more accessible for immigrants and refugees located throughout New York City.

While attending Brown University’s pre-college program this past summer, Sabella was amazed by the topics covered and the unique approach to women's advocacy she found through Professor Almandrez “Women in Leadership” course. Inspired by her experience, Sabella took her lessons beyond the classroom to help build Towers of Justice, a social advocacy initiative promoting community-based resources through easily accessible media content. Sabella brings to Towers of Justice extensive experience advocating for progressive reform within the public education system for immigrant children, and she has dedicated her time to visit elementary schools throughout her area to read a self-made book about self esteem and words of affirmations to students.

Sabella intends to further develop her voice for social advocacy, legislative reform, and community development by pursuing an undergraduate degree in social work next fall.

Sienna Torres

Growing up, Sienna Torres loved joining her father’s work trips. As a sports business attorney, Sienna’s father attended some of the most highly touted sporting events throughout the country. The events were electrifying, but Sienna developed a fascination for the work behind the scenes: the promotions, branding and digital content production.

Inspired by trailblazing women of color such as Maryam Banikarim and Bozoma Saint John, Sienna resolved to find impactful work wherever possible. Seeing women from similar backgrounds to her’s succeed motivated her to take an active role in Towers of Justice and help make resources more available to NYC’s immigrant and refugee communities.

Prior to Co-Founding Towers of Justice and serving as Head of Content, Sienna had various marketing experiences, recently working as an assistant to New Jersey State Senator Nicholas Scutari, where she learned key aspects of public relations and communications. As her high school’s Historian, she designed posters and yearbook publications. Most impressively, Sienna learned essential skills for connecting with audiences through her technical theater work. Chicago, Oedipus, 42nd Street, Legally Blonde, Stairs to The Roof, and All In The Timing are just a few of her favorites she worked on.

Sienna intends to pursue undergraduate business, marketing or communications with the goal of building a career marketing impactful brands that are for women, by women. She seeks to empower women in the business field and be an active participant in initiatives intended to make the field more inclusive and uplifting. Sienne eventually intends to build her own brand "Sunshine Marketing,” named in homage to her Native American Taino heritage for whom the sun plays a vital role.

Treston Torres

Treston Torres is the third and final Co-Founder of Towers of Justice. Proudly of Puerto Rican descent, and having grown up in Union City, New Jersey, Treston found himself both surrounded by immigrants and drawn to the immigrant cause. His mother served that community as a social worker in local schools and hospitals, and his father as a lawyer, so it was only natural that he would find purpose in social justice and the law, empowering immigrants along the way. Treston was instrumental in the conception and launch of Towers of Justice, and, having graduated from Regis High School on New York City’s Upper East Side, began the next chapter of his career, pursuing a pre-law degree in Political Science and Latin American Studies at Cornell University.

✪ By the way, sometimes we find a hidden meaning to our lives that has always been there but goes unseen——until it’s not. Our last name, Torres, means towers.
